Mr Karthik Muthumayandi has at least 24 years of experience working as an academic, clinical therapy, and researcher in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. As an academic, he has worked in various renounced universities, including Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, Newcastle University (Honorary research associate), and the University of Kent. In addition, he worked in charge of the Neuro-musculoskeletal rehabilitation centre Indraprastha Apollo hospital, New Delhi. He also worked as a physiotherapist in the orthopaedic department at Freeman NHS hospital and published scientific articles in various journals at Newcastle NHS foundation trust.
Mr Karthikeyan Muthumayandi has around 24 years of experience as a physiotherapist in clinics, academics and research. Karthik received a Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R Medical University, India, in 1998. He started his private practice in a 100 bedded multispeciality orthopaedic and trauma hospital in Erode, Tamilnadu, India, 1998 – 2000. During the same period, karthik was also working as Lecturer in the Nanda Institute of Physiotherapy, teaching biomechanics, Sports injuries and rehabilitation.
From 2000-2002 karthik studied for a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, India. He achieved a gold medal for standing first in the University and received the Gold medal from the then prime minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh.
From 2002-2004 Karthik started working as a team leader in the Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Sports Injury unit in Apollo group of hospitals, New Delhi. Karthik started his job as a physiotherapist in orthopaedic and Muskuloskeletal research in Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, from 2004 till 2014. He was an honorary research associate in the institute of cellular medicine at Newcastle University. He published various scientific research papers in a reputed research journal.
Karthik completed his MPhil Degree from Northumbria University in 2009. In 2014 Karthik started his job as a lecture in the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences, the University of Kent, teaching musculoskeletal assessment, manual therapy, therapy modalities, and advanced assessments for undergraduate and post-graduate students
